Who it is for

• People who are missing several or all of their teeth
• Anyone who prefers a removable option, or is not yet ready for implants
• People who need a temporary replacement while other treatment is planned

What to expect

1. A consultation and an examination of your mouth, gums and any remaining teeth.
2. Impressions or measurements of your mouth, which are used to make the denture.
3. One or more try-in visits to check the fit, the look and your bite before the denture is finished.
4. The final denture is fitted and adjusted so that it feels comfortable.
5. Follow-up visits to fix any sore spots and make fine adjustments.

Aftercare and good to know

• It takes a few weeks to get used to speaking and eating with new dentures. Starting with soft foods helps.
• Take your dentures out and clean them daily, and follow your dentist's advice on soaking them overnight.
• Your gums and jaw change shape over time, so dentures need occasional adjustments, and you should still have regular check-ups.
