Who it is for

• Adults and older teenagers with mild to moderate crowding or spacing
• People who want a less noticeable treatment than braces
• Patients who can wear their aligners for most of the day, as prescribed

What to expect

1. An assessment with scans or impressions and photos to check that aligners suit your case.
2. A digital plan showing how your teeth are expected to move, which you can discuss with your dentist.
3. Your aligners arrive in a series of sets, and you change to the next set as instructed.
4. Review visits every few weeks to check your progress.
5. Retainers at the end of treatment to hold your new smile in place.

Aftercare and good to know

• Aligners work only if they are worn as prescribed, usually for most of the day and night.
• Take them out to eat and to drink anything other than water, and brush your teeth before putting them back in.
• Some complex bite problems are better treated with braces, and your dentist will tell you honestly which option suits you.
